KLA Const. Technologies Pvt. Ltd. tied up with M/S Quaketek Inc., engaged in the business of manufacturing Friction dampers for structures to better dissipate an earthquake’s energy & allowing the building unharmed after an earthquake. These Friction dampers have been recognized and accepted by US, Canadian, South America, Asian and European Building regulations and are being used in India as well.
Friction dampers installed on standard braces allow buildings to remain elastically deformable in both tension and compression, while dissipating the energy of the earthquake. Friction dampers prevent permanent deformation in structures. It does not require any maintenance hence, no operational cost. Friction dampers are adaptable to virtually any new or existing structure of Steel, Concrete or wood.
Our services include
Fiber Wrap Systems for strengthening

Friction dampers act as a normal structural member under service loads and are only engaged once the slip load is reached. Friction damper is modeled as fictitious yielding brace, however instead of yielding the surface slip. Therefore friction dampers dissipate more seismic energy at a lower force as compared to a ductile brace which would yield or buckle and also gives the same performance in both tension and compression.
Friction Dampers allows structures to dissipate earthquake’s energy, allowing the building to remain unharmed. Damping earthquake’s energy through friction is one of the most efficient methods of dissipating seismic energy. The friction dampers operate on the principles of a coulomb damper or friction brake, translating kinetic energy into heat by friction.Their performance is independent of velocity and hence exerts constant force for all future earthquakes, design-based earthquake (DBE) or maximum credible earthquake (MCE).
